Rental Information

anything I can about the house and Burnsville area. You will find in
the house a packet of information on western North Carolina and Yancy County
tourist information. The house is open during winter months and is
only an hour from NC ski areas.
The house rents for $620 a week or $120 per night with a two night minimum.
You may rent for one week price and book separate three and four day weekends.
Full payment will be made when booking dates. Refunds are not given
- you may change dates as long as you give at least one month advanced notice.
All equipment should be in working order, but if you detect a problem call
me immediately. I cannot guarantee that all appliances will be in working
order all the time but I will do everything in my power to make repairs as
soon as possible. Upon arrival, flip the knife-switch in the basement
under the stairs for hot water.
Keys can be picked up from me in Summerville a few weeks before you go or
I can tell you where keys are available in NC if you are leaving from elsewhere.
Bring sheets, bath towels, dish towels, paper products, soaps, trash liners,
cleaning supplies, and personal items. The house should be equipped
with pillows, blankets, bedspreads, glasses, plates, utensils, and cookware
to make your stay comfortable.
Check Out
- Afternoon around 1:00 if other arrangements are not approved.
- Remove all trash and take it with you because there is no trash removal.
The dumpsters are open 7 days a week on your way back to Ashville on 19 about
four miles from the house.
- Please leave property in clean and satisfactory condition so it can
be ready for the next guests. Refer to cleaning instructions provided.
- Lock all exterior windows and doors and shut blinds.
- Turn off knife switch to hot water heater under the stairs - do not
switch breaker in breaker box, as this will mess up the automatic timer!.
- Return keys to Tom Timm as soon as possible.
Cleaning Information
You will be expected to complete the following items before leaving:
- Clean all dishes, pots, pans, and utensils and return to proper place.
- Empty all trash.
- Refill the firewood rack during cold weather months.
- Remove all debris and personal items, including food items from the
kitchen.
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
- Make all beds with pillows and bedspreads/blankets.
- Return any furniture that has been moved to its original location.
- Clean both bathrooms. Scrub toilets, sinks, and bathtubs thoroughly.
